POSTION SUMMARY:
Works closely with the VP of Finance on the financial and business aspects of the Agency.  Assists with the preparation of financial documents in a timely and accurate manner. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performs proper and timely recording and reporting of the Agency’s financial transactions according to generally acceptable accounting principles (GAAP). 
  • Assists with billing of services, except SUPR/Managed Care and Medicaid, and monitors collection of receivables.
  • Assists with all accounts payable systems and functions.
  • Prepares weekly deposits.
  • Ensures the Agency is compliant with all local, State and Federal laws and regulations related to all fiscal aspects of the Agency.
  • Assists with the coordination and preparation of the Agency’s interactions, communications and reporting to external financial auditors, including both independent accountants and those of funding entities.
  • Assists the VP of Finance with the purchase of all goods and services required by the Agency and maintains an accurate and up-to-date inventory of the Agency’s assets.
  • Assist with budgetary issues and period end processing as needed.

  • Presents and maintains a professional image in dress, behavior, and work habits.
  • Performs all job functions in a professional manner.
  • Performs all job functions consistent with confidentiality regulations, ethical practices and Agency polices and mission.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the VP of Finance.
 
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Extensive working knowledge of accounting/financial management and the ability to maintain, operate and evaluate data processing systems for accounting and financial reporting. 
  • High degree of self-organization skills and the ability to maintain a wide range of varied duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to perform a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Excel. 
 
EDUCATION:
Associates Degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent experience.
 
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years working in the Accounting and/or Finance fields.
